Newb in TX

Wife and I are new to chickens. It was her idea. She says it was for me cuz I eat eggs everyday and have for 30 years. Grew up around chickens but was too young to have learned how to care for them. We have a flock of 23. One rooster the rest hens we think. We have 4 silky chicks. Have no idea what other breeds. Picked up 10 of them from some kind of farm selling minimum of 10 for $6 each. They're laying so not bad I guess. One has a problem which is what brought me here. Will explain in another post. Built a mobile hoop coop and a 25' run. Would like to fully free range but we're in the forest so hawks.
