my orp/barred rock chicks only hatched a week ago, and every one of them has fully feathered wings now... is this normal? when we bought their parents last year, they took a couple of weeks to get all their wing feathers, and that was on top of however old they were before we got them

I wouldnt worry too much. Maybe they are jsut healthier, happier, or better stock.

Or it could be the "watched pot" syndrome. The parents were watched under a scrutinizing eye, where as now you are experienced and dont check on the chickies every 20 seconds

Typically, around a week to two weeks old is when chicks get their wing feathers. I got five one week old chicks that had their wing feathers.
