I'm new to being a mother of 3 RIRs, 3 buff orpingtons, and 3 leghorns. We have had them now for a couple of weeks.
I live on a farm with Texas Longhorns, Paints, goats, donkeys, ducks, and a spoiled cat. So, after some time of my DH wanting chickens and a visit to the local farm supply of viewing the cuties....I was totally onboard! My two sons are also enjoying the chicks.
We already have an chicken coop in the backyard...so we will be getting it back in working order soon.
I've been reading posts of the message board to learn more about taking care of my new friends at the farm.
I'm so excited to watch them grow!
