Newbe needs some HELP Please

Hi everyone

I'm absolutley new to this hobby and know nothing about chickhens

so hopefully some of you mabe able to help anwser some qestions I have purchassed two sweet chickhens around 4-5 months old and was told that they are laying eggs one layed an egg the first day but have not seen any more since could this be to stress of moving this being two days have not seen

also if they dont lay an egg where is the egg are they carrying it around inside them and when they do eventually lay the egg will the egg be okay to eat

First off Welcome to BYC.

Yes they may not lay d/t the stress of moving. Also they are pretty young so they may just be a little erratic right now.
You may want to search for hidden eggs. Any sign that they are eating the eggs?
If they are not laying I don't believe they are holding one in, just haven't started the process. And yes you can eat the egg.

They can, but it is rare.
Mostly they will put cats in their place. I feed 6 cats, 2 ferals and 1 stray outside, and they are afraid of the chickens.
Although yesterday I saw one of the indoor cats streak across the backyard startling the chickens. I think for the fun of it.

They can and will go after chicks.
And it is rarely posted that they have gone after full grown chickens.
