NEWBE

welcome to byc :welcome every one here will help you with what ever you need
Thanks so much for the warm welcome. we are novice at this. So we have contacted a local farm for our first little girls to come from. We want to get Buff Orpingtons. 4 to start with. We need to learn everything and do NOT want our new girls unhappy or unhealthy. The Farm will not have any chicks until the end of the month so now is the time to learn. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

:) I love your great attitude about wanting to know as much as you can before you get your birds! Doing your research ahead of time will help ward off issues later! But, as with everything, experience is the ultimate teacher. I truly hope you enjoy your birds as much as I do - and Buff Orpingtons are delightful!

Hi Keith,
Welcome. We're new too. About 2 months into our new adventure. We recently got our first egg. Three so far. Easter egger. Pretty blue-green eggs. We have one buff in our mix. She's awesome. Hasn't started laying yet.
Good luck to you.
Greetings!! Yes, our Buff Orpington was one of our "late bloomers" too, but she's been fairly consistent since then (except during molt, which is normal :) l
