I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has a Learning Centre and also Topic of the Week articles which I have found to be a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock when they arrive, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Thank you so much. As soon as we figure out our cost (just bought our house) to the new house we WILL get some chicks. Where to start is the question. I have been looking at the site and so much information is there WOW. We love it. So we will at least start with 4 chicks. hopefully they will be here sometime in Feb. 2018. We cant wait. Brooder is what we need a then the coop. How well do Chicken handle hills?

Mine do quite well. There is very little level ground around here, which presents challenges for waterers as most need to be level. If you have a structure to hang them from the hanging type work well. For my birds in the pasture, I use large rubber bowls and kiddy pools.
