(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
we got our first chickens last spring.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
60ish. We have 8 ducks, and 18 guinea fowl too.
(3) What breeds do you have?
polish crested, sapphire gems, EE, OE, leghorns, americanas
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
watching the craziness lol. I never liked chickens ( grew up in farm country). I only got some because we wanted extra eggs and my family wanted guineas for the tick problem. Then chicken math got me because I found out how awesome chickens could be.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
reading, writing, taking pictures
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
we have 6 dogs, 2 cats, 8 ducks, 18 guinea fowl, and a betta.
I'm a single mom to a crazy 5yo, we live at home where I'm a full time caretaker for my mom who had her leg amputated last year. My dads a trucker.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Facebook. A couple months. Because everytime I have a chicken question google leads me to byc lol
