Hi everyone! I'm Julie from Saskatchewan, Canada, which I lovingly refer to as Saskabush!

We have a mixed farm, in a beautiful area that has amazing views, as long as you look up!

I grew up with layer hens, and I've been only recently introduced to the awesome world of heritage breeds! Apparently chickens do come in more colours than brown and white! Now that I've been bitten by the very contagious bug, and am getting Silver Laced Wyandottes, Blue Laced Wyandottes, Altsteirers, and some Phoenix Long Tails to hatch out this spring. (There's a reason why my name is CrzyChickie!

) I'm so excited to try this all out! I have 7 hens right now, 5 brown leghorns and the 2 Silver Laced Wy's that got me hooked. I had more, but have been steadily downsizing to make room for all the new chicks coming in!

I found out about this site when I was googling the proper way to hatch chicks, as I just finished test hatching a group from a friend of mine. (14 out of 22 fertile eggs! Woot!) And I've pretty much been wandering around in here ever since, so much to read and learn!

Outside of my newly found obsession, I have 3 beautiful and too-smart-for-their-own-good kids (6,5, and 3 yrs) and a moderately tolerant hubby (eyerolls have been perfected). We also have our 20 head cattle, lonely lone horse Lucky, and my gorgeous ginormous Dane, Nimue!

That's about it for now! Thanks for reading, and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
