Newbie asking for Wichita style coop advice

I have decided on the Wichita coop design. I was wanting to clear a few things up. I am gonna have 4 hens. I plan on doing the deep litter method. One thing I'm confused with is does this method apply to the run or the actual roost house? Also. I plan on free ranging in my back yard most days and inside at night. Is there any worries about them getting in my pool?

Welcome! Sounds wonderful, just make sure you build it big, and secure. Chickens don't do well in water, but I've no experience with a backyard pool. I would fence them away from the whole area. Walking in chicken poo will not enhance your pool experience, and neither will finding dead birds floating in the water. Mary
