Just a line to say HELLO! We just got our first four Barred-Rock hens last Friday. We chose the two week old chicks to help us be a little more successful at raising the birds.
Our first challenge was a six hour power outage at 3:00 am when it was 38 degrees this past Tuesday! We brought them into the house and placed them in the bathroom. Our cats spent the rest of the morning swarming around the door! Darn cats!
Anyway, they are back in the tool shed under the "light" at a constant 80 degrees...they seem to like that temp. Will keep you abreast of what happens.....
