I have 4 girl chickens 2 beautiful Brahmas and 2 either Aracaunas or Easter eggers. I was told they were Aracaunas. I really don't care, I love all my girls! We have 1 layer(Hattie) at this time. We've only had 3 blue/green eggs. Love hearing the egg song everyone was writing about. Hattie

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. Your have Easter Eggers as true Araucanas are tailless and lay only blue eggs (no green in them). Hatcheries cross blue egg laying Araucanas and Ameraucanas with other breeds to produce green (and other colored eggs) and then incorrectly market them as Araucanas or Ameraucanas (often misspelled Americana or Americauna). Actually many people, including myself, prefer the Easter Eggers as they not only lay eggs in different colors, but will typically outlay their blue egg laying parent. Our EEs are my granddaughter's favorite chickens. She loves their colored eggs. The first breed I ever had was Light Brahmas (around 50 years ago), and they were gentle giants. I also have 2 brahma beauties! All of my girls are so sweet and follow me wherever I go.
