Hello,

I am new to chickens. We have 6 chickens which are 5 months old. Only 2 of the 6 will walk down the ramp on the floor of their coop to get to the run underneath. The 2 that do only go down for about an hour a day.

I can understand they not going down during the winter but now it's 50F out and they won't leave the coop.

Do Chicken not like exit doors/ramp on the floor? Do I need to train them?

I'm afraid they are going to go stir crazy in there and start pecking each other.

Thanks,
Joe

yes you can train them. try coaxing them with scratch going down the ramp and out into the run. They'll figure it out eventually

I put a ramp in my coop so my girls could get to thier nesting boxes and they wouldn''t use it either.

Now they just hop on the poles they roost on to get there.
