Hi everyone! I am new to even the idea of raising backyard chickens or anything chicken outside of the grocery store. I am trying to build/acquire a basic coop then I'll get my hens. I am on a severe budget so it's taking me some time but I am super excited to get it all done so I can get some hens. I live in So Cal just north San Diego on 2 acres with 4 dogs. I look forward to learning and sharing!!

Glad to have you here. If you look on the coop tab you will see lots of great coops for little money. I will post a picture of my pallet coop. My pallets were free and we reused the nails and the paint was oops paint from a building supply store we paid $5 for and then got a $5 rebate from the paint manufacturer.

You can also make feeders and waterers from frosting bucket that if you ask a bakery, you might get for free.
