Newbie duck question

Today I bought 15 ducklings. 5 Mallards, 5 Pekin, and 5 Rouen. They are 4 weeks old. I told they gut at the farm store I bought them from I needed a bag of feed for them also. I never looked at the bag til I got home and u notice its a bag of layer crumble. Is it OK for them to eat?

Not really. Layer food is for adult ducks. You want starter crumbles

When I called to ask about it the person that answered the phone said that's what they are feeding them. Ugh. I have chick starter, is that the same as duck starter?

Use the chick starter and add some plain niacin at 100 mg per gallon to their water. I prefer unmedicated, but have been told amprolium is okay.
