Newbie dumb questions...

How long does it take ducklings to feather? Dip, (my little greenish brown with the poof ball on it's head) is starting to get feathers already. But Chip (the yellow with black splotches) doesn't have a single real feather. Do the breeds feather at different rates? Or is one a male, on a female?

Different breeds can grow and feather at different rates. Muscovies especially are slower- meat type breeds are faster to mature. With the colour difference between yours- I would say you have two different breeds which could deefinitely account for the difference in feathering at this stage.

I know I have 2 different breeds. Just not sure on what ones. I have guesses, but nothing concrete. From looking at pics, I think Chip is Ancona and Dip is Khaki Campbell.
