Newbie egg question

Does the color of the egg always depend on the hen that lays it? I mean, if a brown egg laying hen mates with an EE rooster, would the egg still be brown?

I know...stupid question, right...LOL

The eggs color does not change when mated with a different breed. A brown egg layer will always lay a brown egg never a blue or green.

OK, that's what I figured, but thought I'd ask anyway...lol I get to thinking goofy when I'm getting sleepy on my sleeping medicine. So, forgive the stupid question.

So, I guess if want EE, I'm gonna have to get EE hens.
