Newbie from Australia

:welcome

Just my 2 cents...After seeing chickens eat everything from lead-based paint chips to styrofoam, I wouldn't trust them to only eat that which is good for them. So no, I would not knowingly give them anything toxic.

Best of luck with your new flock and thanks for joining us!

Bonjour and welcome from France :frow I'd probably not put anything toxic in - why risk it!? Sounds like a great set up - love to see a pic.

Thanks everyone for making me feel so welcome!

PouleChick here is the run the day it was delivered. We've since filled in the holes at the base and attached a mesh skirt for fox-proofing (our worst predator). I'm yet to build a step.

And here are some of my babies enjoying a break from scratching in the litter this afternoon.

We are heading into summer here and can expect temperatures over 38°C/100°F in the coming weeks. Am planning on installing a mist sprayer to keep things cool on a hot summer's day.

Am having lots of fun with my chickens!
