We live on two acres with horses and a barn and about 20 "wild" chickens that came with the place. They go wherever they want and sleep in the trees at night. I find eggs laying around here and there, but I never know how long they have been there, so we don't eat them. I want to build a coop to keep some of the chickens in, so that we can "domesticate" them and have a more traditional setup. I also need to thin out the flock--it is about half roosters, which is pretty hard on the hens. Looking forward to interacting with all of you.

Hi! I know how to see if a egg is good or not. get a glass big enough for the egg to fit easily in, and fill it with water. if the egg floats, it's bad. if it sinks, it's good. hope it helps!

Hello and :welcome
I've never heard of someone keeping wild chickens before, so I wouldn't know how it would turn out. I'm interested in hearing more! Anyhow, good luck with whatever you're planning!
Enjoy the site, see you round. :D
