I am new to BYC. Thanks for letting me be a part of your group.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yep. Fall, 2016
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Seven
(3) What breeds do you have?
One Ameraucana rooster, 1yr old
One Golden Comet, 3 yrs old
Two Red Stars, 6 months old
One white bantam Silkie (pullet or cockerel - not sure?), 6 months old
Two Rhode Island Reds (pullets or cockerels - not sure?), 6 months old

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Arts, crafts, photography, writing
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a photographic artist (www.picancogalleries.com) situated just outside the beautiful Gatineau Hills in Val des Monts, Quebec, Canada. Our backyard mini-flock is free ranged (out in the yard all day, back in the "hen condo" at night), and protected by our two herders - our 15 yr old Australian Shepherds. My son is 5 yrs old and has named all of our chickens: Chickoletta, Ventress, Padme, Asoka, General Grievous (the RIR that we think is a cockerel, previously named Princess Leia), and Olaf. Our roo Peanut was gifted to us already aptly named. We had one more RIR but he is a cockerel for sure so he found a forever home on a farm in Low, Qc with twenty ladies to himself.. His name is Anakin. And so the story begins....(yes, my son is a Star Wars fan thanks to daddy, not to mention Paw Patrol and Frozen)
