Newbie to the South too.
My family kinda jumped headfirst into this whole 'farm' thing. In all of four months we've accumulated almost 40 chickens, 9 turkeys, some goats, some horses horses and a small flock of guineas. I have a bit of 'hands on' experience and a bit more book/magazine knowledge. Some of which is actually helpful! So far so good though, only had one minor cocci outbreak, 1 mutant chick and a night time owl attack. (Petsitter forgot to do a headcount...) For a bunch of subdivision folks I think we're doing O.K.
Looking forwards to learning lots!
