Im considering moving close to El paso Blanca Im a newbie I want to raise chickens ducks and turkey later fancy pheasants. I want to learn so i joined. this forum. What are the top meat breeds taste size meat feed ratio factors. Why so much emphasis on commervial feed what sbout groumf grsins seefs? Its their natural fpod with insects

Welcome to BYC!

You might check out the breeds section or even the meat birds section for more answers to this question. As for commercial feed, chickens that lay or you are raising for meat need heavy vitamin and mineral laden feed and these commercial feeds are formulated just for these birds. If you don't feed them properly, you can severely compromise their health.
