Hi everyone! I am a newbie here on BYC and new to chickens. I have to say that this site is so full of information! I copied and pasted the questions from the admin. page so here goes.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes I am very new to raising chickens. My hubby and I just brought home a young rooster and 4 girls. We are getting eggs almost every day! We brought them home last Sunday in May.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
4 chickens and a rooster.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Herein lies the problem. I only know for sure we have 1 Red. I tried to post pics on my page and they uploaded ok, but didn't go to my page. I was needing help to identify the breeds. When I can figure out how to upload the pics to my photo page then I'm hoping someone can help me identify them.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I did a search off of Bing. This place sounded like the most informative.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
My other hobbies include gardening, photography and what keeps me the busiest, outside of a full time job, I am also a pudlished author. You can check out some of my books at amazon.com author name, Tiva Wallon.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My hubby and I have been married for 33 years. We live in Hudson, Florida. Currently we live on the water, in a house that has sink holes. Yes, we found out not long ago and are in the process of getting things handled with the insurance and all. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. My hubby and I have what we call a combo of kids, yours, mine and ours. So we have 3 kids total, 7 grand kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, a parrot, a rooster and 4 chickens. I work a full time job in retail and have been working in retail for 44 years of my life. I know, I must be nuts! LOL!! I guess that's it for now.
