Newbie from Ga

Thank you for all the great info. Michael I am looking up many of the ones you mentioned. I will look around locally. I was alittle concern with ordering them but it seems alit do that. So far I have found great advice on this site. Thanks!

You're welcome. If you can find what you want locally--great! If not, I've ordered over the years, on multiple occasions, from four different hatcheries; Dunlap Hatchery, Murray McMurray Hatchery, Ideal Poultry, and Cackle Hatchery and have been happy with their birds and service. I've never lost more than a chick or two from any of them (none from Dunlap) in shipping, and since they've always put two or three extras in the boxes, I've gotten what I've paid for.

Welcome from a fellow Georgian.

There are a number of ways to get the chicks or pullets you want without mail order. There are a number of breeders around the state - you could post on Yo Georgians to see if any are in your area. Local feed and farm supply businesses in addition to Tractor supply get spring chicks and ducks. I got mine at a local independent 3 years ago and have been quite happy with them.

Good luck on finding the chickens you want.
