I had no idea how fun chickens would be until I got my mom 2 chicks for mother's day. Our love grew to 16 chicks and 3 ducks between us within a couple months and after weeding out the roosters (we can't have them where we're at) and finding the ducks a more duck-appropriate home, we have two happy flocks of 5 chicks and 6 chicks between each of our respective backyards. Our flock consists of 2 ee's, 1 slw, 1 light brahma, 1 buff orpington, and 1 rr! We enjoy watching them, never knowing how entertaining they would be and we love finding treats to take to them to eat. We found our coop ideas from the BYC website and have found many other helpful hints that we appreciate about everything we need to know to raise our chicks into happy egg-laying hens!
