Welcome to my birth state but now I'm next door in Central Ky and a real Redneck~Hillbilly. I have had many kinds of livestock in my lifetime and have found chickens to be the easiest of all. And for the feed you give them- they give you something besides manure ! I attend Ag classes @ Ky State U & U of Ky usually once every month or so, I would suggest you looking into some livestock keeping classes through your local County Extension Offices. I have been a farmer most of my life, however, lots of new ways are here now & keeping your farm Bio Secure is very important today. Also we are going back to raising most of our own foods & your Extension usually has classes on gardening,@ a nominal fee. Good Luck~have Lots of Fun !
