Newbie from Joliet Illinois

I am so EXCITED to be a part of the BYC community!

I have already spent hours of research and reading the site and already an addict! If there is anyone that lives near me that would like to"chat", please reach out
I do not have my chickens yet, but am deeply researching the topic and looking to get them by the end of Feb. I am hesitant because I cannot find an ordinace or code that prohibits them.

I am in unicorporated West Joliet, Will County Illinois. I found a law pertaining to Plainfield, which allows up to 10 chickens. As far as the City of Joliet, I can only find a pet law, which allows only 9 pets per household. I do have neighbors that would cause me trouble if I am not prepared with the info. If anyone from my area can help me with this, it would be most appreciated

I also need this info before the hubby changes his mind!LOL! I find it funny that he does not want a dog, but will like to have chickens!LOL!

What you could do is to find out how much space between neighbors, noise ordiances and so forth.

I don't see anywhere when regarding to domiscated fowl are prohibited.
