Welcome to BYC! I lived in Wichita, Kansas for a while. You have a great looking flock. My children, and now my granddaughter, love the chickens, especially the EEs (for the colored eggs). Good luck with your flock.

What moved you here from San Diego? How long have you been in Tongie?

We moved here a little under a year ago. My husband got transferred to KCK. We miss San Diego, all our family is there, but we have really enjoyed ourselves here in Tongie! Our first winter was rough, but we survived. We are trying to get used to the wind still. I find it amusing when someone refers to strong wind as "breezy."

Bad news.... it seems it's always windy in Tongie!
You guys came here for one of the worst winters we have had in years!!! Hopefully you can connect with some really nice people here to make you feel a little more at home. Being apart from family certainly stinks sometimes!
Are you in the rural area or in the city limits?

We are outside of town on a few acres. We have been able to meet some great people that make you feel like family. Our daughter loves her school, and has made some great friends!

Our daughter is a sophmore at THS. She is enjoying having a small class size. There are about 120 sophmores for this coming school year. The school in California that she was supposed to attend has approximately 1100 sophmores...quite the difference!

I like that she is not just a number at THS, and that she is able to do a lot of diverse activities at school, and be involved in lots of stuff. My husband attended a tiny school in Nebraska; only 32 in his graduating class. Where as I had a very different high school experience; there were about 1100 in my graduating class in California.
