New To The Site (Don't Know Why My Phone Is Capitalizing Every Word Or How To Fix It Right Now...Ugh...Lookin' Like An Idiot). I Have 11 Chix Ranging From about 6-8 Weeks Old. My 4 Year Old Picked Them Out, So There Is No Telling What I Hav, As She Picked Them Out Of Every Bin Possible. Was Looking For Just ONE chick, But You Can't Just Buy One Around Here. So...We've Started A Egg Coop...Lol. Been Around Chix All My Life, Just Never Owned Any. Currently, All My Chix Are Mad At Me Because I Left Them With My Husband While I Took The Kids On A Mini Vacation. They Hate Him Evidently. Two Days Later, I Put Them In Their Brand New Coop We Spent Hours Building...The Run To My Porch And Want Back In The House (They Have Been In The House In A Cage Since Day One, With Frequent Play Time Running Around The House...Pecking MyDogs, Cuddling With Me On The Couch, And being Tortured With BarbieClothes By My Daughters). Now They Run From Me:( . Anyway...Have Already Spent Hours Reading Everyone's Posts. This Is A Great Site! Hope To have The Typing Issue Fixed Before I Post Again Because This Is Going To Be Very Annoying To Read.

hey there welcome to to the flock i am new to this site as well ,kinda Ibeen researching chickens now for about 6 weeks, working on my coop, figuring out what breed to get, what to feed them ,and even how to train them.I got my first flock last friday, checked with the local feed store to see what they were going to have and researched that breed,I am quite happy with the Silver Laced Wyandottes they had and bought 6 of them,5 and 1 that are now a week old,and a friend of mine give me 3 Guinia, when i put the Guinia in with the chicks, one of the chicks wanted to play bully toward the the Guinia,to correct the situation before it got out of hand I removed the one chick and held it until it was calm for about 5 minutes then I put back in with the rest and she started again, then Isnapped my fingers and assertively put my finger in her face and she stopped being a bully.I thought was amazing.anywho I've been using mealworms as treats and at only a week old I've got them eating out of my hands, and the Guinia and chicks are getting along just dandy now,I try not to spend too much time with them in the house cuz they are going to be outside birds.Well I guess I'm tring to say get ya some treats for them.
