Hi there, I am new to this forum. However, I must admit, I have been lurking for a couple of months!

We live in Maine, and have just started a little farm. We named it Stubborn Hill Farm because we live up on top of a hill with lovely mountain views, however, the terrain is rocky (stubborn to till and utilize as a garden), our first cows have been a challenge to say the least (stubborn in thier ways) and lets just say the farmer is stubborn too! We have had hens in years past and then took a few years off. We missed them! We currently have 2 Wyandottes, 2 Leghorns, 1 Americauna, 1 Rhode Island Red, 1 Black Star and 10 Speckled Sussex Chicks. It was great to find this forum and such a wealth of knowledge!

Thanks for the warm welcome all! It has been an adventure for sure. Loving every minute of it. Of course, I have not had to wrestle steer and heifers on multiple occassions, tract them for miles through the snow, etc. That is the farmers job! I'm more in charge of the hens (or they are in charge of me, not really sure). It sure is a gift to be able to have your own animals and experience everything they have to offer.
