Newbie from Missouri

Hi I am from MO, near St. Louis. I live on 20 acres and I am filling them up with animals! I currently have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 3 horses. My newest adventure is chickens. My hubby built me a coop with a 20x10 run and last week I got 7 three week old chicks. I have 3 BO's and I think 3 RIR's and a black one lol. I love them! Who knew chickens could be so much fun. I found this site searching for info on my new chicks and now I am addicted. I have learned so much from lurking that I thought I should introduce myself. I have a great hubby and a daughter in college. I volunteer at a Wildlife Rehab and a Bereaved Parents support group. I do have 1 question, Is it just me or does anyone else sit in their chicken coop and talk to their chickens most of the day LOL? This is a great place and thanks for all the info. I'm sure I will have lots more questions. Looking forward to talking with you.

Don't worry, I think most of us here sit in the run and talk to our chickens. I find them very relaxing and amusing to watch.

I spend a lot of time in the run with my chickens as well. Very theraupeutic for me. It's like watching fish in an aquarium-except my chickens are interactive!

whew glad to hear it! I love bonding with them am watching them. My hubby thinks I'm crazy. I tell him I am going to check on my girls and I am gone for a couple of hours.
