Hello everyone. I've been lurking the forum for a while, and can finally start posting now that I have a hope of sharing my life with poultry.
We recently purchased a ten acre (future) homestead in the Bitterroot Valley. I've already ordered my turkey poults for next spring (lilacs and red slates!), and figure chickens won't be far behind. I love the easter eggers, marans, and wyandottes. Though I have no experience with hatching chicken eggs, I do have experience with reptile eggs and you guys' hatch-alongs look like tons of fun.
We eventually plan to have a few cows, too, but that's next year at the earliest, if I can get everything set up in time. More realistically, it'll be 2014. Oh! Almost forgot about the rabbits. I've got a few Florida Whites I'm raising with the intent to breed them for meat. Great rabbits, can't say enough good things about them.
Well, figure I've bored you enough for now. I look forward to getting to know everyone, and learning as I go.
