Good Morning,

My husband and I bought a 40 acre farm in Western NC a couple of years ago and just this spring I bought my first chickens. 2 leghorns and 4 isa browns. I'm loving it. My husband built a chicken tractor for me (it's a little to heavy, hard to move) and I've finally got it through to our Yellow English Lab that he can't mess with the chickens when I let them out.
Thanks for letting me join. I have much to learn.

Hi Diana and welcome to BYC. 40 acres and only 6 chickens  - you have amazing powers of self-control :)

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/category/learning-center.11/ and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread#post_3239224

All the best

Sounds like you have a lovely flock! That's one awesome husband you've got there!;) My dad built my coop for me. Funny how chicken keeping can bring family together so much.:love

We're glad to have you and happy to welcome you into our family.:)
