Started raising chickens last year with my kiddos for their 4H projects. So far we all love it, but still so much to learn. Any suggestions as to what breeds show best?

Cochins are nice for kids to show because they are docile, and it is not hard to find good quality ones. In general avoid breeds that tend to be flightly or aggressive.

Cochins and silkies are mellow and go broody so that you can raise new stock. Start with the best birds that you can locate. It costs no more to feed a quality bird than it costs to feed a scrub. Welcome to BYC.
