Hi Ashley,
I'm near Maquoketa. Where in Iowa are you? I have Welsumer, Ameraucan, and Cuckoo Marans. Also Ancona Ducks and Shetland Geese.
Also raise Guinea Hogs and sell piglets and pork.
This year I am getting involved in the area farmer's market to sell eggs, pork and produce.

I am located near Spirit Lake Iowa
I figured I would get my feet wet with just chickens for now, but I would love to branch out with geese and ducks eventually.

You are going to have to deal with quite a few roosters, ordering straight run chicks, but you picked great breeds!

Greeting from NorthCentral Iowa!! I live in Mason City and will be picking my chicks up on the 16th. This is my first time with chickens, so like you have been reading everything I can find! Seems chickens are easy from what I read, just follow some basics and enjoy!

Since I live in city limits I'm restricted to less than 25, so I picked a variety for the backyard! Limited myself to 11 and maybe build up from there.
