Howdy y'all!
I've been reading/lurking for a while, since we got our chickens a few months ago, and finally joined.
Our neighbors had 6 sexed chicks, three Rhode Island Reds and three Banded Plymouth Rocks. They needed to get rid of 2 so they offered two to us. We took home (across the street) one of each. They lived in our fish tank until we purchased a coop/hutch from Del's farm supply, a local chain. Since then we have added a metal pen with bird netting for a run and raised the hutch to make more room beneath.
Our girls are not laying yet, but hopefully will begin soon! Next project on the horizon will be making winter walls for their hutch.
Thanks for making this forum possible!
