Hi, neighbor! Absolutely! The babies are in a brooder in the garage now, with a thermometer so I can keep monitoring. No heat lamp needed, that's for sure. My Cinnamon Queen is getting ice water and frozen watermelon treats (her absolute favorite), and lots of shade.

Hello! My name is Hannah, and I've been reading Backyard Chickens a little obsessively ever since we started our own backyard flock. We started our with 4 Cinnamon Queens, but learned some lessons the hard way and now have just one CQ hen left, who is going on 4 months. This week we added a Buckeye and two Welsummer chicks. I'm in a small town just SW of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Thanks for reading and this forum has been so helpful every step of the way!
