Hi all!! Just wondering if anyone has an idea. I have and 18wk old australorp who walks like a German soldier marching. She stands out from all the rest when moving around with the group, when they stop she drops down as though she's tired. Anyone experienced this from chooks?

Hi and welcome to BYC - sorry, i've never observed that in a chicken - John Cleese in Fawlty Towers - yes

Maybe posting your question in the "chicken behaviours and laying" forum may help?

Good luck

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Maybe you could shoot a video of her walking and then dropping down., it would be more informative. You could even post on "Australia, six states and one funny little island.

Have you examined her feet to see if she has any sores, or irritation on the bottoms of her feet.? Maybe nails or toes curled that make it harder to walk. It may just be "her thing," but unless she is a very, young chick - she wouldn't be doing the "drop down," thing

I've noticed today that her back end is shaking as tho her weight is too much for her legs. Her legs and feet are fine and she's the same size as all the others.
