Well, I am not new to chickens, but new to this web site. Hubby and I had multiple chickens many years ago, unfortunately, neighbors dogs got in pen and killed all. Very heart breaking, let me tell you, this was almost 10 years ago. Well, we now have a new coop, and pen, that has a double fence. I have read on this forum how to properly build a run that is harder for predators to access and the coop and run are both within my fenced 1/2 acre whereas the previous coop had not been this close to the house. So I feel good about my chicky family being safe. We purchased 12 BR from our local feed store....our favorites were always the BR. Hubby had a roo named Mister who was so friendly and ooozed personality. I am looking forward to meeting and talking with more of you on line. I actually found this web site from a local lady friend. I am in Eastern WA (state). Any others near me?

There are lots of us here.

Check out the Washingtonians thread in the Where are you forum. It's a friendly bunch.

Thank you for the welcome from everyone. Thank you Imp for the suggestion of the Washintonian site. I will go and check it out. This is the funnest thing I have ever been on. I love reading everyone's chicken stories. I will see all you Washintonians over on the thread site.
