Newbie from Western Va

Hi everyone, this is my second try with chicks.

3 years ago I picked up 6 little guys from Tractor supply had them 2 months and woke up to catch a silly raccoon running off with my last little one

So I am trying again, we have 8 chicks and I am working on animal proofing the area that we are going to put the coop. Thanks ahead of time for all of the wonderful information on these boards!

We live in Stanley. 1 hubby, 1 8 y.o. son 1 beagle, 5 cats, 2 turtles, 1 toad and the 8 chicks.
