Newbie hatching cayuga duck eggs

Pics
Yeah but it finally feels more real ha
Yes they are halfway there
I have had them take 8-36 hours after external
The one with 8 hours had a huge air cell as he had a small crack I tried to fix
He had a lot of air so he took longer to external pip but then was out in 8 hours
Most are around 24 but can be up to 48

Yes so the crack it bigger on the side now and the other egg has just piped do you think he's piped to low???
He has made the pip in the wrong end
I would slightly turn that egg so the pip is facing up
He may hatch himself or he may need help
With him the time will be different
He has missed the internal pip ( 24 hours ) and gone straight to external as he isn’t by the air cell
So now you leave him 24 hours and act like this is internal pip
At that point if he hasn’t made any new cracks I would make his first pip a little bigger maybe the size of a pencil eraser then wait for awhile and see if he can do it himself
If not you will start to help him around 18-24 hours later
Checking for veins and every few hours taking a little more shell
But sometimes they do it just fine with no help needed

Just want to add I had one bruise that end and I had to make the safety hole I left it for 24 hours then started the process
She took 52 hours from safety hole to hatch and she still had a little yolk that took another 2 hours to finish
Don’t rush this process as it’s very important they can stay in the egg to absorb
My girl just turned one a few say’s ago so they can hatch from wrong end and he just fine. She is healthy and strong :)

I've carefully turned the egg to face up and I'll keep an eye out if nothings changed in about 18hrs I'll assist
