Newbie Here and struggling

Wife took the sweet thing to her classroom and she called me a little teary eyed and said that our little chick is trying to walk some now!!!! My Wife woke up every few hours overnight to feed an water and we are thrilled to see the improvements are happening!!! Hoping for nothing but progress going forward. Thank you so much for checking in!!!
Oh this is wonderful!! I am so happy for you, and the little one! ❤

Thank you for caring so much!!! Wife just facetimed me from her classroom, little one did not stop talking the whole time. Didn't stand much but hey, poor thing wasn't being vocal at all yesterday so I'll take all the peeps we can get!!!
Wonderful! Make sure the little one is extra warm under heat, weak chicks sometimes need more heat than healthy chicks. Great news!

Hey all,
We left our little one for maybe 30 minutes to an hour and we came to him not really moving or showing much life. We started some nutri drench right away but it hasn't perked up like before. When we give it a syringe with water its mouth opens really big. Anyone out there have any idea what could be wrong? This is so shocking because we got it walking and the wry neck wasn't much of an issue. My wife gave it a little bit of strawberry so that's the only thing different than most days. Thanks all for any advise or help.

Is he under heat, and what is the temp in the brooder? What does his poop look like? What starter feed is he on?

Yes! Under heat we just checked and it's about 92 degrees under it. Its poop was from earlier today, it was brown but with a greenish tint. As for feed, it's chicken starter/flock raiser from purina. Thanks!!!!
Poor little one. :hugs I'd lower the temp a bit however, at this age temp should be in the mid to upper 80s. However I am not really sure why the down turn after doing so well. Have you checked the vent for pasty butt? Have you started a thread in our Emergency forums yet? If not, you might, go over the history of this chick and hopefully someone can chime in that might know more... https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures.10/

Thank you. Yeah I started a thread over there too! We are on top of clean butts too :( our other three and this one have been cleaned just about every night.
Unfortunately not all babies make it to adulthood. Hopefully this little one pulls through! :hugs
