Newbie here. Anyone have Tips/Fun things for Chickens in the winter?

Hello guys. I’m concerned that my ladies will be too cold or bored during the winter months. Can anyone give me tips or reassurance about chickens in the snowy winter months? I’ve done research but want to ask here too. Thanks in advance

We have fun with this -

It‘s simply a large threaded hook screwed into the stem of a cabbage. They play tether ball with it til it’s nibbled down to the core. Broccoli works well, too.

This is a great idea to do- chickens are interested in anything new really. You can do piles of straw, hang up a mirror, perches... maybe sheltered bath area? Have fun being creative!

Hello, Melanie, and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
My flock has a large run with a solid roof with a thick layer of wood chips to dig around in and dust bathe in, lots of perches to hang out on and they will go out of grass is puking up through the snow. They have any 17 sq ft per bird in the run. I think that helps.
