Newbie here from Ohio

Hi! I'm new to BYC and new to raising chickens. So new, that I don't have any yet!!! They are coming in the next couple of months as soon as it stops snowing in Ohio. Ok... That might not be until June. Anyway, I'm not sure I can really do this, so I'm renting first with the intention of buying after I know I can. Has anyone else done this?

Welcome. I would suggest working out the numbers with regard to renting birds. U will find u are paying much more for eveything. I would suggest buying a small coop and having say two birds to start. You probably could spend $300 or less for all u need.

What exactly do you mean by renting? The chickens?
