Hello all. So glad to be here! I’m so grateful that there is a resource for all things chick/chicken! We had one egg out of a dozen hatch 5 weeks ago, so we attempted it again and now have 6 more baby chicks and another set ready in to go into lockdown tomorrow. Such an exciting time in our household! Along with new life comes with lots of questions. I was able to help a stuck chick out of its shell thanks to this site! While it was scary watching it, and at first we didn’t know if it would make it, it is now two days old and other than needing a bit of extra help, seems to be doing well. However I noticed that it has two curled toes. One being the back toe. Hoping to get help on how to correct this soon.
Looking forward to learning and sharing with you all in the future as we learn and grow together!

Yay! :welcome
You've got the hatching-bug?! Me too! It's so exciting, miraculous, addictive...

And, I have a fella with curled toes. He's 5 months old now, and he carries on great. He can still walk just fine, scratch for food, itch himself, and perch (...on me. He chooses to not roost at night). Your little one will adapt wonderfully - good job helping her so far!

Hahaha! He roosts on you?! Where? On your shoulder like a parrot?
