Hi! I grew up in the city and have always wanted to be a country girl. I have the kids, dog, cat and have added 5 chickens to our family. We have had them since last September. Fun and entertaining - they bring us laughs and joy, not to mention amazing eggs. But I have one that is sick and we are desperately trying to save her.
8 month old Barred Rock beauty. She has lost weight, lethargic, tail feathers down, self isolates when out, comb pale and further fallen than her normal. Is attempting to eat and drink - but tohow much she gets I just do not know. I thought she was egg bound - felt her and slacked her bottom - nothing there. Then we noticed her poop was 100% liquid. First dark brown. Have her liquid probiotic with a dropper and now still liquid but went to white and now is yellow.
I made all the girls a treat today garlic oatmeal with spinach and apple. She pecked at it a little and left it. After an hour with it I let the other hens in to finish it. I was surprised to see her keep her pecking order. I don’t know if it’s a good sign or not. Any thoughts on what I’m dealing with or what to try next?
