Hi Everyone,
We are very excited to be a part of this site and forum!! We have so much to learn! My hubby and I started out with 6 pullets from our local Atwoods Farm & Garden store. I bought 2 "black", 2 "brown", and 2 "orangish-red" colored pullets to start off...Long story short, 1 black, and 1 orangish-red went missing probably due to flying the coop and getting caught by a coyote! The black one now has kind of a blue and green hue to her feathers, the brown ones are a multi-colored brown, and the one orangish-red one we have left is more of a reddish color...A little over a week ago, hubby's boss offered 7 hens a rooster and a duck...6 of the roosters are the black and gray multi-color, and one is white. The rooster is white, and the duck is a Pekin Duck.
The new chickens, rooster and duck are all very healthy, big and laying nicely. Our four are now 6 months old and still haven't layed a single egg, nor are they gaining weight.
Thats just our intro, and will move our concerns to the rightful posts!
Thanks for reading! I hope to learn so much more very soon!
