newbie in Ohio

Greetings fellow bird lovers!!

I'm completely new to chickens...I have 17 Silkie eggs happily percolating in my incubator for a Christmas hatch date. I'm SO EXCITED I could just bust! I talk to them several times a day (thru the "window" of course) and encourage them to develop beautifully

I live on a farm and I am so blessed to be able to enjoy my 6 horses (3 Arabians...my "old" show horses, 3 pet minis), 3 beautiful mute swans that I rescued in the early summer of 2010 (my Angels), 7 hilarious lavendar guineas, 4 rescue parrots and 2 rescue papillon dogs (security...NOT!). Oh! and 3 mouse patrollers in the barn!

I'm thrilled to find this forum and can't wait to pick all the expert's brains so that my silkies and guineas will reach their full potential!
