Newbie incubator/hatcher questions

Pics
Well the only remaining chickens kicked out of its shell but had to "cut" the shell off from the umbilical I guess it is. Baby is still alive and moving round quite a bit.. but I'm concerned as it seems to have a small area on one of the eyes that is not developed it can close the lid around the main part of the eye but some of the white of that eye can be seen through a small undeveloped hole if you will in the lid.

My question is if this chick does make it what are the long term effects this deformity might, can, will cause? I'm assuming that is this chicks case it's due to shipping but I think the parent stock on the pekins might have been poor.

Well the chick is now 2 days old I plan on taking the lil guy out of the bator kept in there to stabilise and fluff up not really fluffy neither were the others for a few days.

It's quite small and because of its eye I don't really want to put it straight in with the week old chicks. I read a heating pad can be used if you don't have a light or a electric hen. My heat pad switch's off after a few hrs but the room I have the chicks in normally stays around 70-85f would it be safe to put it in a temp cardboard box with heating pad on one side and will it be ok room temp wise when the pad does turn off? I normally check in on the lil guy every hr I only plan on keeping him there for a few days at most

I set up my cardboard heat pad brooder and to the sweetest of my week old brahma chicks and put him/ her with the new baby. New baby kept trying to crawl under the older one and truthfully it was cute and funny. They seem to have settled for now and they look really cute together. I know it's early to name the new baby as who knows if it will live but I called it miri as it's a miracle it's still alive and merry because it seems to be doing very well.

I left the big one in there for a few mins while I was in there and then put it back with the older chicks when I went so the chick could rest. Went back up there and it looked like it had been running around noticed bloom an I guess the stomach had a deformity that I did not see and it's guts were out so I sadly just had to put it out of its misery.

Well I thought this thread was over for this year how wrong I was. My 7 little chicks are now 7 weeks roughly and hardly small. My favorite out of the group is blackie who is basically all black even a black comb. Yes that's right blackie the Brahma has a black comb and a big poof ball of feathers on its head. Yes that's right blackie the Brahma ain't a pure brahma in fact blackie is a Brahma X Silkie and it was mixed into the pure brahma's by mistake. The seller was and is awesome apologized for the mix up offered a refund for the mix up or if I liked the look of the Brahma X Silkie she would send some of those hatching eggs free. Needless to say free eggs and I should have them today even if I only get a few and only one hatches that's fine with me.

I must say tho I just adore blackie the friendliest out of the group.

always very eggciting to have babies hatch and I have found that incubating is an addiction for me. I now look at every egg and wonder what the chick that is inside looks like... lol ok I may be over the top

Nope i do the same just wish that shipped eggs were better treated tho. Post office messed about for a day so I could not collect my eggs till today (buggers they are) 2-3 have detached rolling air sacks ( watched a YouTube video on how to possible correct it). I got 6 eggs and I hope that at like lest one makes it out.
