What a unique bird. It's a shame you couldn't keep it just for bragging rights. How is it doing in it's new home?

I noticed you joined BYC a few months ago. I have had chicks fail to thrive. It happens sometimes. I hatch out a few hundred chick every year. Some survive with some TLC and some don't. Good luck with your flock and have fun..

I have had similar situations in the past with predators. I have a lot of security in place for both aerial and ground predators and no longer free range either. My birds seem happy in their nice large covered pens. There are things we can do to entertain our birds. The predators now avoid my coops and pens with the security I have. Again, good luck...
