(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes I am new to chickens.... I actually stopped working in Feb. 2020 and had a lot of extra time on my hands and decided to get some chickens!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I was a little over eager and bought 8, I wish I would have only bought like 4-5 but oh well....
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have 5 Buff Minorca Pullets and 3 Black giants... praying for all hens... I purchased them on March 12 so they are still little and not sure I actually got what I asked for...
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I just love them so far! I love how they come to me and follow me and talk to me hahahahaha
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to garden which is out next to them so I am always talking to 'em... I love to fish which I do as often as possible and I love all animals... also heads up I make most of the chickens stuff... so don't be mean lol they are spoiled and basically rule the back part of my yard with the garden... they have my old shed as their COOP and then I enclosed an area for them when I am not out there and then they come with me when I'm working in the garden
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I had 3 dogs but literally had one go to Doggo heaven last Monday she was AMAZING RIP LeeLee her sisters are Maecyn and Darci, 1 african grey (Charlie), some little fishies (who all have names but i do not remember them)... a bearded dragon (Mushu) *the fish and dragon are my 20 yr olds who still lives with me. I have a 26 yr old as well and she has 2 dogs Buddy (long hair chihuahua) and Juno (black lab) they are wonderful as well.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I discovered BYC just searching online about my chickens and today I was trying to see if I could figure out if I have all hens or not.... but I dont think I can yet...ugh
